OK, the title may be a bit of an exaduration but I was none the less
very chuffed with one line in a review of a conference paper of mine
that was accepted this week. One of the core tenets of all the work
done for the VTIE project has been that everything we do should be
available to everyone so nothing we do should ever be dependent on
proprietary software. We always take some time in our papers to explain
this policy and the reasons behind it so it’s really nice when a
reviewer comments "Good comments about interoperability and proprietory,vs. open source, systems.". Good to see we’re getting the message across!
