My last few Photo of the Week picks have been nature macros, so I thought I’d change things up a bit this week and go for some local history. I just love the boathouse in Carton Estate, it’s such a cool little building in such a great setting. I’ve taken many shots of it, but this is one of my very favorites because of the dramatic backdrop nature kindly provided. For a start the trees in the background are at their autumn best, but as well as that the light was great and there sky was very dramatic.

    Bart,
Just clicked over to your site for the first time after listening to IMP Live 097. Your photos are stunning. I especially like the closeups, but they all are really beautiful. My envy of your skill only increased when I learned you have earned your PhD in experimental physics.

By the way, I tried going to your gallery, but the link “View My Photo Gallery…” circles back to “www.bartbusschots.ie/gallery/”.

Anyhow, rock on, or may the road rise to meet you.

Just a follow up to correct my errors. I need to read more carefully.
I see that it was your undergraduate degree that included experimental physics, and you are “finishing up” the PhD.
Also, I did find the link to your Flikr photostream. Like the shots in the blog, all golden.

Thanks Bill – and nice catch on the old broken gallery link. I’ve fixed the redirect so it now goes somewhere sensible.

    Bart.
