This shot is clearly processed but I hope you&#8217;ll agree that it&#8217;s been done tastefully. What I&#8217;ve done is desaturate everything in the shot apart from the flowers and leaves of the Bindweed so that it stands out from the grass that it was growing amidst.<\/p>\n<p>I got this shot while mountain biking along the towpath of the Royal Canal between Maynooth and Leixlip, or to be more precise, between Pike&#8217;s Bridge and Deey Bridge.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/bbusschots\/2686203612\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bartbusschots.ie\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/largebindweed1.jpg\" alt=\"Large Bindweed (Calystegia silvatica)\" width=\"464\" height=\"464\" style=\"border-width:0px;\" \/><br \/>Click to Enlarge<\/a><\/p>\n<p>For those of you interested in such things here are some of the technical details of the original shot:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Camera:<\/strong> Nikon D40<\/li>\n<li><strong>Lens:<\/strong> Nikon DX AFS 18-55mm (D40 kit lens)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Exposure:<\/strong> 1\/320 sec<\/li>\n<li><strong>Focal Length:<\/strong> 55mm<\/li>\n<li><strong>Focal Ratio:<\/strong> F8<\/li>\n<li><strong>ISO:<\/strong> 200<\/li>\n<li><strong>Camera Mode:<\/strong> Auto<\/li>\n<li><strong>Exposure Compensation:<\/strong> 0.0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The processing was done using <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gimp.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">the GIMP<\/a>.
