Allison had an old Wacom tabled lying around that she hadn&#8217;t used in ages and she very kindly dusted it off and posted it to me. Thanks Allison!<\/p>\n<p>Anyhow, the tabled arrived late last week so over the weekend I had a play with it. Among various experiments I re-visted an old image of <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Conolly%27s_Folly\" target=\"_blank\">Connolly&#8217;s Folly<\/a> near Maynooth which I shot last year. Applying a much improved version of the Selective Colour technique I <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bartbusschots.ie\/blog\/?p=784\">described<\/a> previously on this blog I generated this week&#8217;s photo of the week. I&#8217;ll be creating a tutorial on this new technique soon because it&#8217;s a lot more powerful than the one I described originally. For a start it&#8217;s non-destructive, and it also allows for the desaturated areas to be slightly re-saturated so the effect is more subtle and less glaring.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/bbusschots\/2602364330\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bartbusschots.ie\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/connollysfolly.jpg\" alt=\"Connolly\\&#039;s Folly\" width=\"318\" height=\"464\" style=\"border-width:0px;\" \/><br \/>Click to Enlarge<\/a><\/p>\n<p>For those of you interested in such things here are some of the technical details of the original shot:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Camera:<\/strong> Nikon D40<\/li>\n<li><strong>Lens:<\/strong> Nikon DX AFS 18-55mm (D40 kit lens)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Exposure:<\/strong> 1\/320 sec<\/li>\n<li><strong>Focal Length:<\/strong> 18mm<\/li>\n<li><strong>Focal Ratio:<\/strong> F9.0<\/li>\n<li><strong>ISO:<\/strong> 200<\/li>\n<li><strong>Camera Mode:<\/strong> Auto<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The image was processed using <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gimp.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">the GIMP<\/a>.
