This is the kind of thing I was able to get free-hand:<\/p>\n<p><object width= \"425\" height=\"344\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/er_AqNhHh0M&#038;ap=%2526fmt%3D18&#038;autoplay=0&#038;rel=0&#038;fs=1&#038;color1=0x3a3a3a&#038;color2=0x999999&#038;border=0&#038;loop=0\"><\/param><param name=\"allowFullScreen\" value=\"true\"><\/param><\/object><\/p>\n<p>I was able to do a little better by bracing the camera against something solid &#8211; like the edge of a bridge, but still &#8211; the results were not ideal:<\/p>\n<p><object width= \"425\" height=\"344\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/OjodoqLPYWs&#038;ap=%2526fmt%3D18&#038;autoplay=0&#038;rel=0&#038;fs=1&#038;color1=0x3a3a3a&#038;color2=0x999999&#038;border=0&#038;loop=0\"><\/param><param name=\"allowFullScreen\" value=\"true\"><\/param><\/object><\/p>\n<p>If only I could attach the iPhone to a tripod! Well, this is where the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theglif.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Glif<\/a> comes in. It&#8217;s a small piece of moulded plastic that has a standard tripod screw hole at the bottom, and that grips the iPhone securely. You can use it on a full-size tripod, and it works very well, but it does look quite silly. I find it much more useful to use a mini tripod instead, so I can literally carry me entire video setup in my pocket!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bartbusschots.ie\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/DSC_7879-Version-2.jpg\" alt=\"My iPhone 4 Video Setup with the Glif\" style=\"border-width:0px;\" width=\"490\" height=\"490\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As well as acting as a tripod adapter for the iPhone, the Glif can also function as a handy little iPhone stand, in a surprising number of configurations. If you&#8217;re curious about what all the Glif can do, they have a nice little video on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theglif.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">their site<\/a>.
